A Piece Of Penny History

I don't know when or where I got this 1910 United States penny from but I think this is one of the coolest items I have. When I first came across it a few months ago I was so hyped(maybe because I thought it was going to be worth money...well it's not) I thought about the my ancestors, my grandfather Wilson Walker who was only born a year before this penny was made. I thought about the items just a few pennies could have bought back then, I feel I have a piece of history in my hands.

Family Word Cloud

So this past Sunday Veterans Day, I spent my whole day constructing family trees, family word clouds(wordle.net) Once i started I just couldn't stop. I also made a surname tree, I got that idea from (craftyfamilytree.com). Checkout Dock's family word cloud and my surname tree below. Since the holidays are coming up why not  make a few of these? Print them on nicer thicker paper and visit your local craft store or Michael's to get  frames. These would be great gifts for family members or a way to make some extra money.

Great Aunt Emma Bracey

My Aunt Geri was going through some of her stuff and came across great Aunt Emma's obituary. Emma Walker was the fifth child of Dock and Lillie born 1902 or 1903 in Bromley Alabama. Emma had three children, Lillian, Hattie and Calvin Jr. and she was married to Calvin Bracey Sr.
